Kate Pozeznik

Kate Pozeznik is a resume writer, career advisor, solopreneur, and founder of Quirk, a personal branding and career consulting firm that helps accelerate the careers of women executives. 

Her expertise is founded on an English degree, 20 years of technical writing, and multiple career transitions. She serves on the CTL board of advisors, embraces technology as a conduit to professional success, and enjoys sharing her knowledge with peers and clients alike.


Marie Zimenoff
Marie Zimenoff, CEO of Career Thought Leaders and Resume Writing Academy, knows career services have the power to change lives. She began her professional career as an advisor and recruiter for the Colorado State University mechanical engineering graduate program while completing her Master of Education in Human Resource Studies and Career & Counseling Development.

1. What is the importance of building a digital brand in today's professional landscape?  

Digital branding goes beyond optimizing a profile to be found, although it helps with that! Branding is an active process of engaging in strategic conversations to build a community, and visibility focused on what you want to be known for. 

 

2. How has the Certified Digital Branding Strategist program evolved since its inception?  

We've expanded the program to include other social media channels and other digital branding tactics (like podcasts, blogs, and more). The process of building your brand is similar across platforms, but you need to know what platform to choose and how to engage in a way that aligns.  


3. What are some alternative ways to build a digital presence without being active on social media?  

We know that some clients want to avoid being active on social media. But they still need a digital presence! This is why we discuss other digital branding tools and how to use them for yourself and your clients. 

 

4. How can a robust digital brand help individuals stand out in generative search?  

Generative search tools like ChatGPT, Bing Chat, and Bard will soon overtake a simple Google search. What will they say about you and your clients? You can still influence the results, and it will take focused activity to build a clear digital footprint. 

 

5. What are some key features of the Certified Digital Branding Strategist program?  

The program includes 7 classes (5 on digital branding content, one recap session for our annual renewal cohort, and one on creating and selling a program). It also includes weekly office hours and monthly update sessions where we look at new features AND help coaches use these features to build their brands. 

 

6. How do live webinars and office hours contribute to the learning experience?  

This program is about learning AND doing. You will have assignments and get feedback from instructors and classmates to enhance your brand, create a digital branding strategy, and start executing it! 

 

7. In what ways does the program help participants overcome obstacles in building their digital thought leadership?  

The problem isn't knowing how to post on LinkedIn or any other platform. It's about setting clear digital branding goals, clarifying your target audience, and focusing on conversations that matter. We discuss the non-technical obstacles so you can process them yourself and be ready to do the same with clients. 

 

8. How can AI assist in understanding and targeting a specific audience for digital brand building?  

This is the new content for this class, and I'm so excited about it! It has nothing to do with having AI write for you (we talked about that in April and will talk about it a bit again) and everything to do with using the big data now available to all of us to understand our target audience, find them faster, and have a message that resonates. This content alone is worth the class investment (we will show you how to use it for yourself and clients...something that has yet to be discussed!).
